All Eltool products can be repaired. Our repair department will disassemble, clean, and evaluate every part so that the tool performs like new once reassembled. The tool will go through the same quality checks as a new tool would before it leaves our facility. Before sending your tool to us, please download and fill out the repair form.
Repair FAQ
Cost
Repair costs vary depending on the severity of the damage. In general, repairs range from $400-$1,500 USD. This includes parts an 1 hour of labor. Most often, tools simply need new bearings. From time to time the motor in our coolant powered tools will need to be rebuilt/refurbished and will add to the cost of the repair. On rare occasions, severely crashed tools are more expensive to repair than it would be to purchase a new tool. These are the most expensive repairs and can cost more than $2,500.
Lead Time
We do our best to have repair orders finished in the same day we receive it. Repair orders take priority over new orders. When shipped via UPS, tools are typically dropped off in the morning and repaired in time for the next pickup the same afternoon. It is not uncommon for delays in shipping or for out of stock inventory to increase the lead time. Sending motors to the OEM for a rebuild can increase the lead time by 2-3 weeks.
Motor Repair Options
In the case your motor needs repaired, we will replace it with a refurbished motor and get your tool back to you as quickly as possible. If you want a new motor, or the same motor you had in your tool, you can choose the options below for repair.
- New Motor – We stock new motors available for purchase.
- Motor Rebuild – Your motor will be shipped to the OEM for a rebuild. Typical lead time is 2-3 weeks. Your motor will be repaired to the same specifications as a new motor.
- Refurbished Motor – We stock rebuilt motors so that the 2-3 weeks lead time for a rebuild is eliminated.
D.I.Y. Repairs
All of the parts used in our products are available for purchase. Many customers prefer to repair their tools in-house or have backup parts for when their tools break down. If you have any trouble repairing your tools, our repair department will guide you through the repair. Repair Policy
Repairs sent to Eltool will be held for no more than 90-days. If you have not sent a purchase order after 90 days after receiving your quote, we will send the tool back to you at your cost un-repaired.
